Thrashing his Class 3 rivals on debut at Sha Tin, Massive Sovereign then produced one of the most spectacular Hong Kong Derbies of recent years, thundering home for victory from a seemingly impossible position.
Romantic Warrior, one of racing’s globetrotting stars, has excelled in Hong Kong and beyond since debuting at Sha Tin in 2021. Trained by Danny Shum and purchased by Peter Lau for HK$4.8 million at the Hong Kong International Sale, the lrish-bred horse suffered only one defeat in his first season before securing a memorable Derby win.Romantic Warrior solidified his legacy as a Hong Kong great with Group 1 victories in both Australia and Japan.
